Judge not…Says who?!

July 28, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

1

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Ayn Rand & God pt.1

March 15, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

AHS will periodically do a brief critical analysis of Ayn Rand’s views on particular topics she devoted her time to in her life. She was without a doubt one of the great thinkers of our time. The first installments of this series will go over the generalities of her view on abortion and God. This will be written as a lay response to a very intricate and involved Objectivist philosophy that incorporates realism and the rejection of metaphysics.

Forgive and Forget

March 10, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

These must be the most difficult phrase to live out in our day to day relationships.

Forgiving, if for nothing else, is a way to move on from a bad event or series of events with others. Moreover, forgiving is therapeutic for the wronged person. It allows the person to use their mental and physical energies towards other endeavors.

Forgiving also allows room for growth spiritually. Just about every religion espouses forgiveness on some level. This is not to protect the offender but to help the offended to completely release from the offender and his/her actions.

God is real. Your religion is fake.

God. Complete and absolute. Creator of the universe and all of its inhabitants. Alpha and Omega.

Man. Infinitely limited. Skilled at manipulating their mental, physical, and spiritual environments.

God, as mankind commonly refer to this being of greater power, has been manipulated by man. This necessary manipulation is not absolutely a bad thing. Mankind has utilized his surroundings to make them adaptable for our longevity and survival. While through our mental capabilities we have computers, vehicles, and airplanes, we have haphazardly manipulated a whole host of things that we are but mental dwarfs to understand.

Is Homosexuality a Sin?

February 13, 2009 by · 2 Comments

For most Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Buddhist, the answer is undoubtedly yes. These major religions all shun this behavior as it is counter to the manner in which humans beings were anatomically designed to act sexually.

However, even though the answer to this question is yes, there are some caveats to this answer. On a certain level, the answer to whether homosexuality is wrong can be accurately given a yes AND no answer. That is correct. To a degree, a yes and no answer can be given to judge this abberant behavior.

Logical Positivism…the Atheists’ God

November 30, 2008 by · 1 Comment

Of all self-described or unwitting followers of the belief of atheism. There tends to be a common statement among them. It goes something like this, “Since we cannot perceive or show through the scientific method that God exists, then we must deduce that there is no such thing as God.” This line of thought lives in the river of logical fallacies. Science then becomes the God of the atheist. The belief that unless something can survive the rigor of the scientific method it is unproven is logical positivism. Their desire to avoid estimations and guessing passing science led them to the opposite extreme.

Catholicism, the Priesthood, Pedophilia, and Homosexuality

November 3, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

1st Corinthians chapter 7 verse 1 the apostle Paul writes:

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman (celibacy).

It was this now infamous statement that has indirectly brought the Catholic church to one of its lowest points in history. The apostle Paul‘s statement has been used to oust holy & religious men from the church. Paul was essentially stating that if a person has the fortitude to be celibate then that level of control and strength over one’s self is god like and reverent. He goes on to state that if a person does not have that kind of strength, that is no problem because God has placed upon each person a particular skill of strength. He was not stating that celibacy was dogmatic. It was only a doctrine that he was espousing.

Intelligent Design & Darwin’s Theory of Evolution

October 23, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

The cases of Intelligent Design & Darwin’s Theory of Evolution have clashed with each other unnecessarily. It is completely possible for both of these concepts to maintain a level of validity in the scientific community.

Why must two positions that are each supported by passionate followers ignore the symbiotic relationship that they have with each other?

Intelligent Design and Darwin’s Theory of Evolution are such cases.
