Coca the Andean Wonder Plant

Coca, which can be synthensized into the infamous Cocaine, has many cultural, religious, and medicinal uses. The people of the Andes have used the Coca plant without it deteriorating their society. They have managed to incorporate this plant into their society without creating a crime-infested community. Futhermore, they have declined to radically alter and concentrate the euphoria producing chemicals of the Coca plant. Instead, it has the effect of a large Starbucks coffee. It is used to stave off hunger and it can increase endurance. Generally, in its Andean form it rarely creates an addict.

Meaning most Americans describe themselves as Christians. Is it possible that the manner that this religion is practiced has wrought an economic neck weight? Jesus taught not that governments should take from citizens to give to other citizens. Rather, those individuals should take it upon themselves to give what they can to the needy. Taking care of the needy is an individual responsibility. Only through person to person social interaction can welfare operate without any negative consequences.

Generally, the greatest factors that allowed slavery to persist for centuries were economical and cultural. Slavery could not have persisted if the people that were doing the exploiting and the people that were being exploited were not use to this kind of arrangement. Many European and African countries had long been involved in slave trading before 1500 A.D. This generally involved Europeans enslaving other European societies and Africans and Muslim Arabs involved in shipping and trading Africans across the continent and to other continents.
